Czech Development Agency implements a project focused on more sustainable agriculture in Moldova

Soil degradation, climate change and unstable markets are increasingly threatening Moldovan agriculture and the livelihoods of rural communities. A new Team Europe initiative entitled ‘Sustainable Food Systems’, launched in 2025 with the support of the European Union and the Czech Republic, brings innovative solutions to Moldova aimed at helping farmers cope with challenging conditions and ensuring the country’s long-term food security.

Czech Development Agency Supports Project for Mapping and Remediation of Environmental Burdens in War-Affected Dnipropetrovsk Region

The non-governmental organization Arnika, with financial support from the Czech Development Agency (CzDA), is launching another phase of mapping and remediation of environmental burdens in Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region, together with Ukrainian partners. The region has long suffered from heavy industrial pollution and, since the start of Russian aggression, also from the war itself. The international survey will focus on forty additional high-risk sites, helping both local residents to avoid danger and authorities to plan for post-war recovery.

New €8.5 million Team Europe initiative to drive sustainable agriculture in Moldova

The Team Europe initiative ‘Sustainable Food Systems’, which aims to increase the resilience of the agri-food sector in the Republic of Moldova, will help farmers better cope with external shocks and climate-related challenges. With a budget of €8.5 million, funded by the European Union and the Czech Republic, the four-year project will introduce state-of-the-art solutions and proven European practices to modernize agriculture and strengthen rural communities.
