Government and Civil Society

Sharing Czech experience and knowledge in politics, economics, and social transformation has become more prominent within projects in the government and civil society sector. Projects in this sector in 2017 were implemented in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Serbia, Moldova, and Ukraine. The projects dealt not only with the transformation to a decentralized public administration system and support of the capacities of the individual state institutions but also with the transfer of experience of becoming closer to the European Union.

In 2017, a total of 93% of the CZK 44.5 million budget based on the Government Resolution was drawn down for bilateral projects in the sector of government and civil society.

This area includes efforts towards Sustainable Development Goal No. 16: Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels.
